I love Sophie Blackall's art, and I want you to love it too. I wouldn't say I love it in a "I-want-to-hang-it-on-my-wall-right-now" kind of way, but more in a "I've-never-seen-anything-like-this-and-I-can-totally-relate-to-what-these-prints-portray" kind of way. Does that make sense? Maybe when you see what I'm talking about, it will make more sense.
I found her "Missed Connections" series first (which is the feeling I was referring to in the above paragraph), but she has also illustrated several books, and she has a charming website that I recommend visiting. And if you have even a few more extra minutes, spend a bit of time on her blog, Drawn from My Father's Adventures.
Here are some of my favorites. Make sure you read the words on the prints themselves!
What do you think? Can you relate to any of the situations she has illustrated? Do you have any of your own "missed connections"?
And if you would like, you can visit Sophie Blackall's website
here, or you can visit her Etsy store
here.
